Formally established in 1891 as Annunciation of The Blessed Virgin Mary. St. Mary's is located in Ireland 4 miles west of Jasper, three blocks north of Highway 56. 

St. Mary Church is one of the largest parishes in Dubois County with 2,909 members in 1,018 households. The average age of parishioner is 33.9 years.  From August 31, 2003 - August 31,2004 there were 20 marriages, 18 deaths, and 55 infant baptisms.

The religious education program has 42 catechists, serves 288 elementary, 148 middle school and 201 high school students.

Visitors and new members are always welcome to gather at daily Mass and other times to pray in a public act of worship. Please call the Parish Office to become a registered member of St. Mary Church. 

Opportunities are always available to become more actively involved such as a usher, lector, server, musician, eucharistic minister, catechist, or in any parish activity, event, or other volunteer organization.

St. Mary's had their Centennial Celebration on September 19, 2004
